About Us

Paperbird Bookkeeping was started by a Chartered Professional Accountant with a single purpose in mind: to streamline the bookkeeping process for clients, offer quality bookkeeping services, and to make life simpler.

While working at a professional accounting firm in North Vancouver, Allison Feenstra noticed that high quality, experienced bookkeepers were in short supply.

Small businesses primarily had two options: pay for their accounting firm to do the bookkeeping (high quality but often highly expensive), or hire an inexperienced bookkeeper (which often caused messy results and therefore higher accounting fees anyway). Looking to offer a better experience for small businesses, Paperbird Bookkeping was created to fill the gap – a great bookkeeping service at a reasonable flat monthly cost that seamlessly integrates with the needs of your accounting and tax professional for an overall hassle-free experience.

We believe that technology-based bookkeeping systems are both more efficient and greener, and we strive to run our business as paperless as possible. We support Quickbooks Online, Xero, Hubdoc, and other cloud-based accounting software programs.

Allison Feenstra, CPA, CGA

Allison provides direction, advice, and support to the bookkeeping team at Paperbird. She has solved bookkeeping problems for small businesses for nearly 15 years, and her experience includes hiring and evaluating bookkeepers, designing and overseeing accounting system controls, and providing accounting and tax services to businesses and individuals. Allison can mostly be found at the offices of Richmond + Feenstra Chartered Professional Accountants.

Gord Feenstra

Gord is responsible for client onboarding and overseeing all bookkeeping activities.

Gord started his career as an Automotive Mechanic, but then discovered he was actually quite good at bookkeeping and keeping up with the latest technology. While you can still find him the automotive shop sometimes, he spends the rest of his time these days providing a great bookkeeping experience to all kinds of small businesses.

Bruce Duncan

Retired from his first (and second) careers, Bruce spends part of his time bookkeeping and part of it volunteering for charity. His bookkeeping experiences includes 20 years as a small business owner as well as a number of years acting as treasurer for a non-profit association in Langley, BC.
